Senior Software Engineer (Java/Angular)

Location: Remote within the United States; job site in Irvine, California. Telecommuting is permitted 100% of the time from anywhere within the US.

Salary: $190,000–$195,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop scalable, high-performance applications, web apps, and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and TypeScript.
• Design microservice architectures with service mesh, REST, service-oriented architecture, and cloud platforms.
• Use geospatial data and tools to analyze, interpret, develop, and visualize geographic information.
• Work with databases, big data platforms, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, and Kibana for data processing, streaming, search, and monitoring.
• Create and maintain ETL processes and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Git.
• Mentor developers, conduct architectural reviews and code reviews, and support Agile delivery and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field plus two years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus five years of relevant experience.
• Expertise with Java 17+, TypeScript, Spring, Spring Boot 3+, Spring Cloud, and Angular 16+.
• Experience with at least one listed database technology, including Oracle DB, Postgres, PostGIS, MySQL, or BigQuery.
• Knowledge of microservice architecture, REST, service-oriented architecture, clean architecture, SAML, and OAuth.
• Experience with Kafka, Google Cloud Platform, and at least three listed CI/CD, observability, or security tools.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience using artificial intelligence tools such as GitHub Copilot.
