Product Manager, Payment Messaging (Fintech)

Location: Remote across the United States and Canada; hybrid schedule required for employees living within 30 miles of an office location. What you will do

• Define product strategy, technical requirements, feature priorities, and roadmaps for payment messaging products.
• Work with banks, processors, customers, partners, and engineering leaders to map complex technical problems to business needs.
• Manage implementation rollouts across multiple continents for banking, acquiring, and related modernization use cases.
• Design a configurable, developer-friendly interface for interpreting ISO8583, ISO20022, and similar messaging formats across multiple protocols.
• Integrate new capabilities with existing hirify.global products, platforms, and technical concepts.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in payments technology as a software engineer, product manager, or related role.
• Experience launching initiatives involving APIs, observability, private networking, enterprise authentication, and developer-focused technologies.
• Deep experience with banking or payment gateways, networks, acquirer or issuer processors, AS/400 servers, ISO8583, and ISO20022.
• Broad payments expertise, including DUKPT encryption, EBCDIC encoding, observability, and modern software development, with deep knowledge of at least one relevant technology.
• Strong opinions on software architecture and experience designing configurable systems that reduce per-implementation engineering work.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including technical documentation and RFP presentations.

Nice to have

• Experience with tokenization, payment processing, or security products.
• BA or BS degree.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment or bringing new products to market with go-to-market teams.
• Direct experience in payments or data tokenization.
