Senior AI Engineer (Blockchain)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid working. The role also offers the option to work from almost anywhere for up to 90 days per year.

What you will do

• Design and build agentic workflows and AI-powered features for hirify.global's copilot using LLM frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.
• Lead the design of agents, tool integrations, and retrieval pipelines that transform complex blockchain data into useful investigation insights.
• Build evaluation frameworks to improve the quality, reliability, and latency of LLM outputs.
• Design and own backend services, APIs, and event-driven systems using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Lead technical design reviews and architecture decisions for AI workstreams.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve team practices for testing, observability, prompt management, and AI system reliability.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of software engineering experience, including 1–2 years of meaningful production work with LLM-powered features.
• Production experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar, and with agentic systems involving tool use, planning, memory, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Strong backend development skills in TypeScript and Node.js, including API design.
• Experience building LLM evaluations, including evaluation sets, LLM-as-judge approaches, or regression testing.
• Cloud experience with AWS and database proficiency in SQL/Postgres, with some NoSQL exposure.
• Experience mentoring and coaching engineers, communicating clearly with non-engineering stakeholders, and working with AI systems in production.

Nice to have

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, multi-agent systems, or agent orchestration.
• Familiarity with LLM observability tools such as LangSmith, Langfuse, or Arize.
• Experience with multiple model providers, fine-tuning, Terraform, Kubernetes, Datadog, or distributed event-driven architectures.
• Interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or compliance.
