Senior Lead Agentic AI Engineer (Construction & Engineering)

What you will do

• Lead a small autonomous engineering team by setting technical direction, driving delivery and quality, and mentoring engineers.
• Design and ship full-lifecycle features across front-end and back-end systems.
• Build and consume APIs and event-driven services connecting workforce, project, scheduling, and financial data across hirify.global Cloud and customer systems.
• Develop AI-native and LLM-backed product capabilities using agentic architectures, RAG, evaluation harnesses, and context engineering.
• Own the complete engineering lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, operation, performance, scalability, quality, and security.
• Work directly in customer environments to validate assumptions and shape technical decisions based on real-world needs.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience with depth in at least one area such as front-end, back-end, data, quality, security, platform, or applied AI.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers while remaining closely involved in production code.
• Ability to work across the stack and take ownership from design through production operation.
• Practical fluency with AI development tools and agentic engineering patterns.
• Experience making customer- and commercially-aware technical decisions in ambiguous environments.
• Based in or able to work from London, United Kingdom, with hybrid workplace participation.

Nice to have

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience shipping AI-backed features involving LLM integration, RAG, or agentic patterns.
• Experience with enterprise, ERP, project-based, construction, engineering, or other field-heavy software.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams and delivering through agile practices.
