Senior Lead Agentic AI Engineer (Construction & Engineering)

What you will do

• Lead a small autonomous engineering team by setting technical direction, driving delivery and quality, and mentoring engineers.
• Design and ship full-lifecycle features across front-end and back-end systems.
• Build and consume APIs and event-driven services connecting workforce, project, scheduling, and financial data across hirify.global Cloud and customer systems.
• Develop agentic and LLM-backed product features using RAG, agentic architectures, evaluation harnesses, and context engineering.
• Make performance and scalability decisions for cloud-native systems using Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, GitOps, and observability.
• Work directly in customer environments, test technical assumptions, and incorporate findings into the product.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience with depth in at least one area such as front-end, back-end, data, quality, security, platform, or applied AI.
• Ability to work across the stack and own design, development, testing, deployment, and production operations.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers while remaining actively involved in coding.
• Practical fluency with AI-assisted development tools and agentic engineering patterns.
• Ability to make progress in ambiguous environments and connect technical decisions to customer and commercial outcomes.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup associated with London, United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience shipping AI-backed features involving LLM integration, RAG, or agentic patterns.
• Experience with enterprise, ERP, project-based, construction, engineering, or other field-heavy software.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams in an agile delivery environment.
