Senior AI Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Boston, Massachusetts, United States; on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 per year, plus potential discretionary incentive compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Own part of the firm-wide AI architecture, covering agentic systems, knowledge bases, RAG, LLM training and inference, model integration, evaluations, context and memory engineering, and related tooling.
• Design and deliver production-grade, enterprise AI systems beyond prototypes and proofs of concept.
• Align requirements across investment, engineering, sales, data, risk, security, and business teams.
• Integrate AI solutions with existing platforms, data sources, and workflows.
• Embed governance, security, risk controls, monitoring, evaluation, and lifecycle management into AI systems.
• Mentor engineers and drive adoption of reusable AI platforms, tooling, and components through technical influence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physics, robotics, mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including senior or principal-level software engineering experience and ownership of complex production systems.
• Experience designing, building, and operating enterprise-grade AI or machine learning systems.
• Deep understanding of agentic systems, retrieval-augmented generation, MCP, and LLMs.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in API design, distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, testing, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern AI tooling, plus collaboration with Risk, Compliance, Security, or Legal teams in regulated or risk-aware environments.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or formal training in generative AI, agents, machine learning, or data science.
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock.
• Familiarity with quantitative, research-driven, or investment-oriented AI use cases.
