Manager, Production Controls (Manufacturing)

Location: Benson, NC, United States; regular daily presence on the production floor is required through construction, commissioning, and ramp.

What you will do

• Design end-to-end material flow, plant layout, WIP locations, staging areas, storage strategy, traffic patterns, and material-handling equipment.
• Configure and deploy ERP and warehouse management systems, including item masters, locations, bins, transaction flows, barcode or RFID labeling, and mobile scanning.
• Lead inbound receiving, hazardous-material handling, WIP movement, finished-goods packaging, outbound shipping, carrier management, and export documentation.
• Establish lot genealogy, cycle counting, physical inventory, reconciliation, inventory accuracy, and material availability controls.
• Build materials planning and production-scheduling interfaces, manage inventory levels and turns, and control the operating budget.
• Recruit and develop an organization scaling to 167 employees, including training for powered equipment, hazardous materials, system transactions, and station qualifications.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing materials management, warehousing, or supply chain operations, including at least five years leading multi-shift material-handling teams.
• Experience designing plant material flow and warehouse layouts during construction or major reconfiguration, with strong inventory-control and lot-traceability knowledge.
• Experience with hazardous-material receiving, storage, shipping, regulatory compliance, powered industrial truck safety, and operator certification.
• Ability to work onsite on the production floor, climb stairs, stand and walk for extended periods, work in hot, humid, or noisy environments, and use required PPE including respirators.

Nice to have

• ERP or WMS implementation ownership, including master-data configuration, transaction-flow design, testing, training, and go-live.
• Greenfield or major expansion experience, especially in defense, aerospace, or regulated supply chains.
• Knowledge of bulk chemical handling and DOT or IATA requirements for shipping magnetized products.
• APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD certification; Lean or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience deploying barcode, RFID, or automated material-handling systems.
