Principal Platform Engineer – Sales (AI)

Location: Raritan, New Jersey, United States, with options at J&J East Coast sites or remote work within the U.S. Office-based employees work up to 2 days virtually and at least 3 days at their primary work location per week. Up to 20% travel may be required within New Jersey and occasionally across North America or other regions.

Salary: $102,000–$177,100 base pay per year.

What you will do

• Define and evolve the technical architecture and engineering strategy for the MedTech CXM Sales platform.
• Build reusable frameworks, SDKs, APIs, gateway services, and developer platforms for enterprise adoption.
• Lead reusable agent frameworks, skills-based architectures, orchestration strategies, and AI interoperability standards.
• Create shared catalogs of AI services, tools, agents, and business capabilities across the Workbench ecosystem.
• Partner with AI Core teams on agent execution, observability, security, discoverability, and platform operations.
• Establish engineering metrics and build an organization supporting long-term AI platform expansion.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise-scale products, platforms, and distributed systems.
• 4+ years as a lead architect, principal engineer, or engineering lead responsible for platform architecture and technical strategy.
• 2+ years developing and using AI agents and orchestration platforms.
• Expertise with Microsoft Dynamics, Azure, Co-Pilot, Co-Pilot Studio, and commercial platform development.
• Experience with enterprise AI ecosystems, including LLM integrations, multi-agent architectures, RAG, tool-calling, A2A, MCP, AI governance, and observability.
• Hands-on experience with API Gateway, AWS services, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, infrastructure as code, and the XENA engineering platform.

Nice to have

• Experience in medtech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
• Experience building enterprise agent platforms, Internal Developer Platforms, reusable SDKs, and framework libraries.
• Experience influencing senior executives and leading organizational transformation.
