Senior Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, US; hybrid work with in-office attendance two days per week

Salary: $228,000–$279,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate production AI agents for incident triage, environment provisioning, configuration generation, and developer self-service.
• Develop agentic infrastructure-as-code practices, versioning and testing prompts, tools, evaluation criteria, and safety controls.
• Operate and improve highly available distributed systems on AWS, including Kubernetes-based and serverless infrastructure.
• Evolve Cortex into an AI-augmented developer control plane for service scaffolding, deployment debugging, issue resolution, and natural-language self-service.
• Improve observability, automated remediation, reliability, documentation, and operational procedures; participate in on-call rotations and post-mortems.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and collaborate with engineering, product, security, Staff engineers, and management on platform initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and large-scale, highly available, customer-facing distributed systems.
• Production experience building and operating AI-driven systems, agentic workflows, LLM integrations, and prompt engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, EKS, Lambda, Bedrock, containerized and serverless architectures, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Datadog.
• Strong coding ability in Python and/or Go, with experience treating infrastructure and agentic systems as software.
• Knowledge of security, privacy, compliance, model safety, prompt-injection prevention, data isolation, and governance for production AI systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with service mesh and traffic management, including Linkerd or Istio.
• Proficiency with GitOps and CI/CD orchestration, including Argo CD, Flux CD, GitHub Actions, or Argo Workflows.
• Experience with MLOps or LLMOps, model versioning, evaluation frameworks, AI monitoring, guardrails, audit logging, or LLM data governance.
