Environmental Analyst I - Laboratories

Salary: $21.00–$26.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform quantitative sample analysis by gas chromatography using a variety of detectors.
• Prepare samples, standards, data summaries, and records for client reports.
• Calibrate, validate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
• Support analytical method development and sampling approach validation.
• Maintain organized documentation for sample preparation, analysis, equipment maintenance, and off-site data.
• Communicate project updates and comply with quality assurance, health, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of gas chromatography experience preferred.
• Experience with ChemStation software and FTIR analysis.
• Ability to meet laboratory QA/QC requirements independently and describe the instruments and chemistry used in performed assays.
• Strong instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, timeliness, and throughput skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds several times per day and perform overhead lifting of more than 20 pounds.
