Field Technician

Location: Jackson-Oh Mod Site; must live within 25 miles of 10551 Chillicothe Pike, Jackson, Ohio 45640

Salary: $34.62–$38.01 per hour

What you will do

• Install, repair, and replace distribution facilities, including main lines and customer services.
• Operate and maintain construction equipment such as backhoes, side booms, tampers, and hydra-cranes.
• Clean, grease, lubricate, and transport equipment and materials.
• Support residential and commercial customers through routine and emergency field work.
• Respond to emergency calls and work scheduled or unscheduled overtime when required.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools for field-facility repairs.
• Ability to obtain a valid Ohio operator's license and commercial driver's license, and complete required company-truck certification within three months.
• Ability to perform basic calculations, prepare legible records, interpret gauges and dials, and understand written and oral communications.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, meet deadlines, and maintain reliable attendance.
• Ability to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and work in all weather conditions.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. Candidates must pass required assessments, drug screening, motor vehicle and background checks.

Nice to have

• Plumbing trade experience with natural gas.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to pipeline safety and underground construction.
