Field Technician (Environmental)

Location: Easton, Massachusetts, with field-based work supporting offices in Massachusetts and Rhode Island

Salary: $25–$30 per hour

What you will do

• Install treatment systems and implement remediation technologies for drinking water, groundwater, stormwater, soil, sediment, and indoor air.
• Operate and maintain groundwater extraction, soil vapor extraction, chemical injection, and other automated remediation systems.
• Collect environmental samples and operate field and laboratory equipment, including GPS devices, data loggers, gas meters, and interface meters.
• Oversee subcontractors involved in excavation, construction, waste management, and well drilling.
• Perform field tests, inspections, observations, and documentation for engineering, hydrogeologic, scientific, and construction evaluations.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles, trailers, and field equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or trade school background is preferred.
• 2–7 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, public works, plumbing, electrical, mechanical work, construction, or a similar field.
• Must be able to work primarily outdoors and travel to field sites.
• Strong mechanical skills, troubleshooting ability, a valid driver’s license, and personal transportation to work sites are required.
• Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card).
• Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally, sometimes over substantial distances.

Nice to have

• Environmental field experience.
• Experience driving large trucks or vans, operating heavy equipment, and towing trailers.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and First Aid/CPR training.
