Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist (Genomics)

Location: Hybrid in Great Abington/Cambridge, United Kingdom

Salary: £44,000–£66,000 annual base salary, plus eligible bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop algorithm specifications and analytical approaches for non-invasive prenatal testing and reproductive health products.
• Design, execute, and analyse experiments with assay development, regulatory, and bioinformatics teams.
• Conduct validation and verification activities for in-vitro diagnostic clinical genomic products.
• Apply statistical and computational methods to complex scientific and product development challenges.
• Develop, analyse, document, and maintain bioinformatics workflows using Python and R in line with quality standards.
• Communicate project objectives, progress, and outcomes to cross-functional and global stakeholders.

Requirements

• PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, mathematics, or a related scientific discipline.
• Professional experience in bioinformatics, data analysis, data visualisation, and computational methods for genomics research.
• Professional experience in Python or R, ideally both.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and independent working skills.
• Knowledge of next-generation sequencing, non-invasive prenatal testing, and clinical genomic products is valuable for the role.
• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with NGS, NIPT, and clinical genomic product development.
• Experience working with assay development, regulatory, or cross-functional research and development teams.
