Senior Advisor, Safety (Energy)

Location: Southborough, MA; travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required, with occasional travel beyond the assigned region.

Annual salary: $115,250–$128,050, with eligibility for a potential incentive.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, monitor, and improve occupational safety and health programs, policies, and procedures.
• Provide program oversight and facilitation to field operations, safety advisors, safety vendors, and operations management.
• Analyze safety statistics and identify causal factors to support needs assessments and future program development.
• Coordinate resources and provide technical guidance on safety compliance and performance concerns.
• Act as a safety manager when assigned and support safety management in enterprise-wide program execution.
• Participate in storm restoration and emergency response assignments, including safety branch director responsibilities within the ICS system.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Safety Management, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• Five to eight years of related safety experience, preferably including program management.
• Thorough knowledge of company safety rules, utility operations, construction site safety, and safety management principles.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and applicable state and federal public safety regulations for electric, gas, and water utilities.
• Strong communication, organization, project leadership, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of distribution operations, electrical and gas systems, construction practices, or renewable energy practices.
• Additional safety certifications such as the Advanced Safety Certificate, ASP, or CSP.
