WAN Internship (Networking)

Location: Fully on-site at the Waterford office, Ireland, for the duration of the internship

What you will do

• Provide first-level support, triage user requests, and resolve or escalate network incidents.
• Support LAN/WAN infrastructure, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN gateways, wireless networks, load balancing, and network access services.
• Analyze network issues affecting business operations and apply established hardware and software support procedures.
• Receive, track, and maintain network assets and inventory.
• Consult with internal and external clients to define requirements and support project deliverables.
• Coordinate with second- and third-level teams, maintain accurate documentation, and complete assigned work on time and within budget.

Requirements

• Current third-year university or college student with a December 2026 or later graduation date; the internship must be a mandatory part of the degree or coursework, and studies must continue afterward.
• Experience supporting network devices and knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, routers, switches, analyzers, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and network management.
• Knowledge of load balancing, content filtering, VPN gateways, firewalls, network security, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, communicate effectively, and manage projects and time.
• Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.

Nice to have

• Industry-recognized certification such as Cisco CCENT, CCT, or CCNA.
• Understanding of cabling types and etiquette.
