Principal Platform Engineer (Identity Platform)

What you will do

• Build and operate shared authentication and authorisation platform services for product engineering teams.
• Consolidate authorisation across cloud-native, legacy hosting, and lifecycle cloud environments.
• Develop APIs, integrations, infrastructure code, automation, and self-service workflows.
• Write and review code, including Go-based tooling and services, while owning platforms in production.
• Improve reliability through observability, performance testing, safe rollouts, rollback, backup, and recovery.
• Support technical decisions, code reviews, engineering standards, and platform adoption across teams.

Requirements

• Substantial hands-on experience building and operating platforms or shared infrastructure for software engineering teams.
• Strong coding and scripting skills for infrastructure, automation, deployment tooling, or integrations, with experience using automated tests and version control.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, containers, a major public cloud, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and GitOps.
• Practical experience implementing authentication and access control, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token lifecycle management, permission models, least privilege, and tenant isolation.
• Experience with APIs, networking, data stores, distributed systems, troubleshooting, and production ownership.
• Ability to translate security requirements into maintainable software, automated tests, and reusable platform capabilities.

Nice to have

• Production experience with Curity, Keycloak, SpiceDB, or comparable fine-grained authorisation engines.
• Experience with enterprise federation, SAML, policy-as-code, or identity systems in distributed multi-tenant environments.
• Experience building identity APIs, SDKs, or self-service capabilities for engineering teams.
• Production experience with Go, PostgreSQL, Kafka, or Redpanda.
