Senior Platform Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: New York City; hybrid role

Salary: $183,000–$275,000 USD annually, depending on experience, location, business needs, and market demand.

What you will do

• Lead Engineering Managers and Platform Engineers across multiple teams, providing direction, alignment, coaching, and career development.
• Translate Platform Engineering strategy into priorities, measurable outcomes, and coordinated roadmaps with Product, Engineering, and Security.
• Drive the development and adoption of the Internal Developer Platform, including developer tooling, workflows, APIs, templates, integrations, and platform services.
• Enable self-service, automation, and secure-by-default workflows for engineers and AI agents.
• Improve platform reliability and operational maturity through SLOs, observability, incident management, operational data, and developer feedback.
• Build organizational capability through workforce planning, hiring, succession planning, and development of future technical and people leaders.

Requirements

• Experience leading multiple engineering teams in Platform Engineering, infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, or a related environment.
• Experience managing and developing Engineering Managers and engineers while building high-performing teams.
• Experience delivering internal platforms or products at scale that improve developer productivity, reliability, or operational efficiency.
• Strong understanding of platform architecture, distributed systems, modern software delivery, and platform-as-a-product principles.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GitOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and self-service platform capabilities.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, technical judgment, and influencing skills across Engineering, Product, Security, and senior leadership.
