Lead Platform Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Own the architecture and operation of the Azure cloud platform, including landing zones, subscriptions, network topology, container runtime, and resilience patterns.
• Build reusable Terraform modules, deployment templates, and platform services for secure, production-grade infrastructure.
• Deliver infrastructure through automated, tested, version-controlled Terraform and CI/CD pipelines while reducing manual change and configuration drift.
• Embed security, governance, compliance, access controls, encryption, vulnerability management, monitoring, and auditable controls into the platform lifecycle.
• Own platform availability, reliability, recovery, service objectives, incident response, root-cause analysis, and FinOps-driven cost optimization.
• Lead and mentor platform engineers while setting technical standards and remaining hands-on with architecture, design reviews, and complex technical problems.

Requirements

• Strong experience architecting and operating production Azure environments at scale.
• Expertise in landing zone and subscription design, private networking, containerized compute, API management, and resilience across zones and regions.
• Extensive hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, container runtimes, identity, and observability.
• Production accountability for business-critical systems and confidence handling complex incidents.
• Ability to design for developer adoption and treat regulatory and security requirements as engineering constraints.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and developing platform engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Google Cloud Platform architecture or engineering experience.
• Experience in complex, regulated, or security-sensitive environments.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, serverless services, and cloud-native application patterns.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable CI/CD technologies.
• FinOps, operational resilience, regulatory compliance, cloud-control frameworks, or relevant cloud and security certifications.
