Senior Technical Project Manager (Fintech)

Location: New York, United States

Base salary: $190,000–$220,000 annually, plus discretionary annual target bonus, performance incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design roadmaps and execution plans for platform modernization with geographically distributed, cross-functional engineering teams.
• Establish migration sequencing, cutover strategies, and delivery plans for moving core business services from legacy environments.
• Lead large-scale migrations of PII, sensitive financial records, and historical transaction data into secure, scalable infrastructure.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, data teams, security, product, legal, compliance, and risk stakeholders on schemas, APIs, ETL pipelines, cloud storage, and controls.
• Manage project scope, schedules, resources, dependencies, risks, and delivery metrics across Agile, Scrum, and Kanban workflows.
• Drive retrospectives, post-mortems, release management improvements, and repeatable integration frameworks.

Requirements

• 6+ years of direct experience as a Technical Program or Project Manager leading software engineering, platform modernization, or complex infrastructure integration projects.
• Experience delivering technical projects in regulated financial platforms and services, including fintech, capital markets, banking, or crypto and digital assets.
• Hands-on leadership of large-scale data migrations involving regulated datasets, PII, and financial transaction records.
• Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure, microservices architecture, distributed databases, APIs, and data security frameworks.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and enterprise tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Linear.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with M&A integrations, technical consolidation, migration, or system deprecation.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.
• Familiarity with ITIL, SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA, AML/KYC, or PCI-DSS frameworks.
