IT Hardware Integration Engineer (Defence)

Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in Munich or Berlin, Germany

hirify.global is a defence technology company developing high-performance, software-defined unmanned systems for NATO Allies and their partners.

What you will do

• Integrate ruggedized IT hardware, including laptops, tablets, routers, and radios, into mobile and vehicle-based Ground Control Station (GCS) setups.
• Configure and maintain Linux-based systems and network infrastructure to ensure stable, repeatable performance.
• Design and implement robust cable management and power distribution concepts for field-ready deployments.
• Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting of integrated hardware in workshops, labs, and outdoor test environments.
• Define repeatable build setups and maintain clear documentation for production and supply chain support.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
• Around 3 years of professional experience in IT systems integration, hardware integration, or field engineering.
• Practical experience with Linux-based systems and networking concepts (IP, routing, switching, VLANs).
• Strong hands-on experience with hardware integration, cabling, and power management in ruggedized or field environments.
• Solid English skills for technical communication and documentation.
• Ability to work onsite in a dynamic, cross-functional engineering environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with unmanned systems, robotics, or defence-related technical platforms.
• Familiarity with Bundeswehr requirements or operational deployment contexts.
• Experience with network security, hardening, and secure system configurations.
• German language skills for technical communication and supplier interaction.
