TL;DR
Airborne Electronic Hardware Developer (Aerospace) (DO-254/DO-160): Designing and certifying airborne electronic products and solutions across the full lifecycle with an accent on hardware requirements, validation and verification, environmental qualification, and safety-critical compliance. Focus on integrating FPGA and RF-based systems, coordinating suppliers, and solving certification and environmental testing challenges for aerospace and defence programs.

Location: Getafe Area, Spain; hybrid working model when possible.

What you will do

  • Design and develop airborne electronic hardware products and solutions across the full product lifecycle.
  • Define equipment, hardware, firmware, and system-level requirements.
  • Prepare technical documentation for aerospace development and certification processes.
  • Support validation, verification, integration, qualification, and environmental testing campaigns.
  • Review component selection against reliability, obsolescence, thermal, and environmental constraints.
  • Manage supplier work packages covering design, manufacturing, and validation activities during prototype and production phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience developing equipment for airborne systems in aerospace, defence, industrial, or other high-reliability sectors.
  • At least 5 years of experience with DO-254 certification and environmental qualification.
  • Strong expertise in validation and verification, process assurance, safety-critical analysis, and certification processes.
  • Experience with aerospace, avionics, UAV, or defence programs, including FPGA-based systems and RF electronics.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and an understanding of DO-254, DO-160, and MIL-STD environments.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of FPGAs, digital and analog electronics, high-speed design, signal and power integrity, embedded architectures, and EMI/EMC.
  • Experience with Vivado, MathWorks Simulink, Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of VHDL, C, C++, and aerospace communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, or ARINC.
