Ventures Analyst/Associate (Physical & Industrial AI)

Location: Linz, Austria, with regular travel to partner sites across Upper Austria, the Vienna office, and startup hubs across Europe; remote work is possible when not meeting people or visiting sites.

What you will do

• Source pre-seed, seed, and Series A startups for investments and corporate introductions.
• Research Physical & Industrial AI markets, map sector dynamics, and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Support investment deal teams with startup assessment, market research, and investment materials.
• Translate corporate challenges into startup searches, pilot opportunities, and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Build relationships with investors, universities, incubators, industry advisors, and public institutions across the Upper Austrian ecosystem.
• Help establish the Linz office, organize partner events and demo days, and mentor startups on fundraising, go-to-market, and scaling.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering or technical field such as mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, automation, computer science, or physics.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in venture capital, startups, strategy consulting, or an industrial engineering environment.
• Fluent English is required.
• Strong analytical, written communication, and content development skills, including experience creating market maps, investment memos, and client-facing materials.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 and daily use of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, international, detail-oriented environment and adapt as a new office develops.

Nice to have

• German language skills for work with the local ecosystem.
• Exposure to manufacturing, automation, robotics, logistics, or industrial software.
• Experience with additional languages.
