Associate or Senior Associate (AI)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States; in-office 3 to 4+ days per week

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 per year, plus eligibility for annual performance bonuses and participation in the firm's carry structure.

What you will do

• Develop and refine investment theses covering AI infrastructure, agentic automation, and vertical AI applications.
• Source promising founders, teams, and startups by building genuine relationships across the AI ecosystem.
• Lead financial, customer, product, technology, team, and market due diligence.
• Form investment recommendations and present analyses to support investment decisions.
• Support portfolio companies through introductions, strategy, hiring, resources, and board meeting participation.

Requirements

• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and available to work in the office 3 to 4+ days per week.
• Ideally 2–4+ years of relevant experience in a startup operating role, as a founder, scientist, technologist, investor, or technology investment banker.
• Strong technical background through a degree or self-taught expertise in computer science, mathematics, machine learning, engineering, or a related field.
• Active use and experimentation with cutting-edge AI products, technologies, and models, with well-formed views on the sector.
• Ability to work independently, learn quickly, take ownership, and operate effectively with ambiguity.
• Strong relationship-building skills with founders, an entrepreneurial mindset, and commercial judgment.
