Associate or Senior Associate - AI

Location: San Francisco, California; must be based in the Bay Area and work in the office 3 to 4+ days per week

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications

What you will do

• Develop and refine investment theses and roadmaps for the AI ecosystem.
• Source promising founders, teams, and startups and build relationships across the ecosystem.
• Lead financial, customer, product, technology, team, and market due diligence.
• Prepare analyses, opinions, and investment recommendations to support investment decisions.
• Support portfolio companies with introductions, strategy, hiring, and resources.
• Attend board meetings and engage across the full investment lifecycle.

Requirements

• AI-native mindset with ongoing use and experimentation with cutting-edge products, technologies, and models.
• Typically 2–4+ years of relevant professional experience in a startup operating role, as a founder, scientist, technologist, or investor; PhD backgrounds are also encouraged.
• Degree or equivalent expertise in computer science, mathematics, machine learning, engineering, or a related field.
• Independent thinking, fast learning, initiative, resourcefulness, and a commercial mindset.
• Strong ability to connect with founders and take ownership of programs and initiatives.
• Must be based in the Bay Area and work in the office 3 to 4+ days per week.

Nice to have

• Prior investing experience is not required.
• Experience as a founder, scientist, or technologist.
