Investment Associate (Compute/AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid in-office 3x per week. Full-time availability in San Francisco is required, with periodic travel to New York City.

Salary: $155,000–$175,000 annually, plus fund carry.

hirify.global is a seed-stage venture capital firm supporting founders of transformational businesses through investment resources and portfolio support.

What you will do

• Source and build relationships with founders, engineers, and operators across the San Francisco compute and AI ecosystem.
• Evaluate prospective investments through technical differentiation, competitive dynamics, and market sizing analysis.
• Develop and pressure-test investment theses across software and hardware opportunities in the compute stack.
• Represent hirify.global and its Compute100 efforts at community events, dinners, and podcasts across the Bay Area.
• Support the existing compute portfolio, including Etched, as needed.
• Build and maintain a map of high-signal people and companies, extending reach into technical communities, engineering organizations, and research labs.

Requirements

• Must be available to work full-time in San Francisco with hybrid in-office attendance three days per week.
• Must be available for periodic travel to New York City.
• 2–4 years of experience, including 1–2 years in a production engineering role at a leading technology company, AI lab, or high-growth startup.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience; Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical background is also relevant.
• Strong connection to the San Francisco technical and AI ecosystem and genuine curiosity about compute.
• Ability to operate amid ambiguity, build new processes, collaborate effectively, and establish trust quickly.
