Quality Engineer (Energy Storage)

Location: Melbourne, Australia; hybrid work options are available, with travel of 30–50% across APAC.

What you will do

• Lead investigations into quality issues, prioritize resolutions, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage non-conformances, quality intake systems, backlogs, reporting, and related documentation.
• Analyse NCRs, CAPAs, JIRAs, and other quality records to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Support testing, validation, commissioning, and operational readiness for Battery Energy Storage Systems.
• Partner with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Project teams on product launches and lifecycle quality.
• Drive data-led quality improvements through analytics, risk assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
• 5–12 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, or Operations within manufacturing, renewable energy, or a related industry.
• Experience managing non-conformances, leading cross-functional issue resolution, and supporting product launches and readiness reviews.
• Knowledge of at least two areas including batteries, software and controls, inverters, transformers, electrical systems, mechanical systems, or civil and structural systems.
• Experience with quality systems, risk management, continuous improvement, change control, validation, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to travel 30–50% across APAC and collaborate with global teams, suppliers, customers, and hirify.global sites.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale renewable energy projects of 100 MW or more or similarly complex infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of supplier quality and supply chain quality processes.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to interpret contractual obligations and business impacts.
