Senior Staff Software Engineer, Benefits (AI)

Location: New York, NY — hybrid, with office attendance approximately 2–3 days per week. hirify.global also has offices in Denver, San Francisco, and Scottsdale; San Francisco expectations include the San Jose metro area. Approved non-office work requires a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection.

Salary: $191,000–$225,000 per year in Denver and most remote locations; $225,000–$265,000 per year in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York. Stock equity is additional.

What you will do

• Architect and evolve customer-facing web platforms for scale and performance.
• Build AI-driven interfaces for benefits shopping and customer assistance.
• Design, build, and maintain shared services that support rapid product iteration.
• Implement and optimize benefits opportunity, shopping, application, and renewal workflows.
• Write well-tested full-stack code and apply AI-powered tools to improve development speed and reliability.
• Mentor engineers, shape technical roadmaps, and partner with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building scalable full-stack web applications.
• Expertise in frontend development with React and TypeScript, plus backend API development, data modeling, and database schema design.
• Extensive experience building AI interfaces, iterating on prompts, maintaining evaluations, and applying AI tools to full-stack development.
• Experience with AI-driven personalization patterns and intelligent user experiences.
• Deep experience with CI/CD and observability best practices.
• Ability to combine pragmatic execution with long-term architectural thinking and collaborate with technical and business teams.

Nice to have

• Direct familiarity with React and Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with robust recommendation systems.
• Experience designing scalable AI architecture for reliable platform services.
