Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Python/React)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area

Salary: $196,000–$220,500 base salary per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Deliver high-impact projects that unlock new capabilities for game developers across APIs, the Discord app, the developer portal, realtime infrastructure, and C++ SDKs.
• Write, review, and ship elegant, scalable code used by millions of people.
• Lead projects through requirements gathering, milestone planning, implementation, and release.
• Work with game developer partners, Solutions Engineers, and Developer Relations to understand needs and improve tools.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and partner managers to resolve ambiguity and define solutions.
• Maintain performance, reliability, and quality standards across delivered software.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with Python and TypeScript/React, or related experience with Elixir, Rust, or C++.
• Ability to switch across technology stacks or learn new ones.
• Experience building software backed by large-scale data applications.
• Product and design awareness with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Active use of AI coding tools to improve productivity.

Nice to have

• Experience working at scale.
• Mobile development experience.
• Experience using GCP, Amazon, or Azure for backend product infrastructure.
• Game development experience.
