Full Stack Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in New York, United States

Salary: $130,000–$215,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Ship full-stack features end-to-end within a 3–5 person pod, from problem definition through production.
• Develop APIs and integrate external services and databases while maintaining data integrity and security.
• Build responsive, accessible front-end interfaces and AI-powered product capabilities.
• Optimize application performance through caching, efficient algorithms, and database indexing.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, design, and the Pod Lead on requirements, UX, scope, and trade-offs.
• Write unit and integration tests, review code, mentor junior engineers, and participate in rotating production support and on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience across frontend and backend development, with technologies including Node.js, React, Golang, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and AWS.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, distributed systems, API design, database internals, and cloud platforms.
• Ability to diagnose complex issues, optimize performance, work independently in ambiguous problem spaces, and own outcomes through production.
• Hands-on experience with AI developer tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating AI or ML capabilities into web applications.
• Exposure to OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, Pinecone, or similar AI APIs, frameworks, and vector databases.
• Relevant GitHub contributions and interest in improving developer workflows with AI.
