National Security Partnerships Lead (AI)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; hybrid policy requiring staff to be in an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time. Regular travel within the United States and to allied countries is required.

Annual salary: $295,000–$345,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead strategic engagement with U.S. Intelligence Community elements and allied intelligence and security services.
• Develop partnerships and governance frameworks that support rapid, high-impact, and safe adoption of frontier AI.
• Identify national security deployments and support the public sector sales team in delivering them.
• Brief senior U.S. and allied government officials on frontier AI capabilities, risks, and safety.
• Advise company leadership on international model distribution, deployment policy, and partner requirements.
• Coordinate with federal affairs, international policy, communications, marketing, legal, security, sales, product, research, and threat intelligence teams.

Requirements

• Substantial national security experience, including work in or with the Intelligence Community.
• Direct experience managing relationships with foreign partner governments or services.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, or a clearance held within the last two years, with the ability to obtain and maintain it.
• Experience negotiating formal government or government-industry agreements and partnerships.
• Understanding of intelligence operations, classification, liaison relationships, and technology adoption constraints.
• Ability to brief senior policymakers, explain technical subjects clearly, build structure in ambiguous environments, and manage competing priorities.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of national security experience, including substantial Intelligence Community work.
• Experience in liaison, foreign partnership, or foreign disclosure roles.
• Private-sector experience in technology, cybersecurity, or defense.
• Regional expertise or language skills relevant to allied partners.
• Hands-on familiarity with large language models and their potential misuse.
