Senior Electrician (Biotech)

Location: Onsite in Thousand Oaks, California, United States. The role follows a 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule five days per week, with weekend, holiday, night, and other out-of-hours support as required.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain electrical power generation, distribution, backup power, emergency generation, and UPS systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on complex electrical equipment and systems across the site.
• Identify equipment performance, workflow, waste, and maintenance-program improvement opportunities and support implementation of solutions.
• Complete work orders accurately in the Maximo computerized maintenance management system and communicate work status, issues, and updates to operators and stakeholders.
• Execute all activities safely and with quality while following SOPs and cGMP requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, support team development, and help maintain a productive, respectful, and professional work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of electrical systems or maintenance-related work or military experience, or an associate degree plus six months of related experience.
• Experience with industrial electrical generation and power distribution systems, including 480, 208, and 120 volt systems.
• Strong equipment troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, equipment schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to execute Maximo work orders, communicate effectively, and collaborate constructively with peers and teams.
• Ability to work onsite in Thousand Oaks and provide support during nights, weekends, and holidays when required.

Nice to have

• California Electrician Trainee certification with 720 or more hours of approved schooling and 4,800–8,000 hours of documented on-the-job experience.
• Five or more years of electrical and utilities systems experience.
• NFPA 70E training and experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
• Experience in highly regulated functions and knowledge of cGMP practices.
• Ability to provide technical advice and guidance to others.
