Senior Electrician, Construction

Location: North Chicago, Illinois, United States. Onsite work at an industrial plant, Monday–Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Salary: $27–$48.80 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, install, and improve electrical systems supporting process and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot high- and low-voltage systems, electrical distribution, motor control centers, transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
• Test and maintain UPS systems, backup batteries, generators, transformer minizones, and related emergency systems.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on soft starts, VFDs, PLCs, process controls, and instrumentation.
• Conduct electrical testing using turns ratio testers, meggers, load testers, and ultrasonic sensors.
• Apply hirify.global standards, NEC, GMP requirements, safe-work procedures, and CMMS processes.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Five or more years of related experience in a commercial or industrial environment, or completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program.
• Licensed electrician with experience supporting electrical, instrumentation, and control installations.
• Knowledge of conduit, cable tray, electrical drawings, PLC I/O, instrumentation, motor controls, VFDs, and electrical distribution.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements, grounding and bonding, lockout/tagout, arc-flash prevention, NEC, and GMP requirements.
• Must be an hirify.global-qualified Level 4 electrician.

Nice to have

• Experience leading crews and coordinating contractors.
• Experience documenting installations and working in industrial or regulated facilities.
