Optics Technology Manager

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; on-site role with up to 10% international travel.

Base pay: $159,500–$233,967 annually.

What you will do

• Develop supplier technology roadmaps that support hirify.global’s product roadmap.
• Lead and maintain relationships with strategic technology suppliers.
• Own technology success from research and development through production.
• Coordinate collaboration between the CTO Office, Engineering, and Operations.
• Support optical technology prototyping, problem solving, risk assessment, and mitigation.
• Provide technical guidance on supplier selection, architecture, and manufacturability.

Requirements

• PhD or MS degree in Physics, Optics, or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience; minimum qualifications specify 3 years with a doctorate or 6 years with a master’s degree.
• Technical expertise in at least two optics areas, including design, coating, metrology, optomechanics, or materials.
• Strong technical foundation, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience with SEMI metrology or lithography companies.
• Technology supplier management experience in optics, lasers, or the SEMI industry.
• Knowledge of DUV/UV optics suppliers, coating equipment manufacturers, lasers, laser damage thresholds, or DUV degradation mechanisms.
• Knowledge of patent and IP portfolios, development agreements, photo-contamination control, and cleanroom protocols.
