Optical Manufacturing Technician

What you will do

• Fabricate and assemble high-precision optical components using CNC and specialized processing equipment.
• Perform grinding, polishing, and coating of optical surfaces to meet rigorous quality specifications.
• Inspect components using advanced metrology tools to identify minute defects and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain cleanroom area, tooling, and equipment according to 5S standards.
• Collaborate with production engineering to optimize manufacturing processes and cycle times.
• Document process data and escalate quality or safety concerns promptly.

Requirements

• Must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a vocational trade preferred.
• Ability to work a compressed 12-hour shift schedule (rotating 3-4 days per week).
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment wearing full protective gear.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and work around lasers, chemicals, and high-noise environments.
• Experience with measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, or interferometers is preferred.
