Security Engineer - Infrastructure Security

Location: San Jose, California, United States; 5 days/week in-office collaboration required

What you will do

• Design, implement, and manage security controls and frameworks for backend services and infrastructure.
• Secure the deployment of AI tooling, service-to-service communication, and network boundaries across infrastructure.
• Partner on data-center and cloud network security, including segmentation, VPC structure, private connectivity, and egress policies.
• Own multi-cloud authentication and authorization for human and machine identities, extending identity controls to on-prem and neocloud environments.
• Build asset and identity inventory, configuration drift detection, coverage metrics, and closed-loop remediation pipelines.
• Advance zero-trust networking with posture-gated access, secure-by-default patterns, and versioned, auditable access rules.

Requirements

• 6+ years of security or software development experience.
• Security knowledge in one or more areas including Kubernetes, containers, service mesh, networking, operating system internals, authentication and authorization protocols, or cloud security tools.
• Experience developing and deploying services in multi-cloud environments, preferably across at least two of Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong software engineering skills in C/C++, Rust, Golang, Python, or a similar language.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for learning and helping others.
• BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent related experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with zero-trust networking, posture-based access control, egress controls, and segmentation design.
• Hands-on experience with workload identity, federated credentials, and secrets management.
• Experience delivering security controls as reviewed and versioned code.
• Experience securing AI/ML tooling, self-service security platforms, on-prem infrastructure, or neocloud environments.
