Cybersecurity Engineer (AI)

Location: US - Foster City, CA; at least 3 days per week in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $137,400–$212,500 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize security architecture for web, API, mobile, and AI agent applications.
• Define security requirements, analyze threats and risks, and conduct security reviews and threat modeling throughout the development lifecycle.
• Lead tabletop, red-team, and scenario-analysis exercises and coordinate remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Develop proof-of-concept prototypes and scalable enterprise cybersecurity products using AI and machine learning.
• Automate security tools and processes for access control, defense-in-depth, secure coding, and AI agent governance.
• Transition successful prototypes into operational products with cybersecurity product development and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Agentic AI development experience and hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, fine-tuning, and AI agents or agentic pipelines.
• Experience developing highly available and scalable enterprise services using Python; experience with Java, Go, Rust, or another object-oriented language.
• Experience with cybersecurity, threat modeling, application and network security, and securing on-premises, multi-cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of cloud-native development, distributed systems, Docker or Kubernetes, and RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
• Must work from the Foster City, California office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, vector databases, and AI agent orchestration tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Autogen.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, Azure, PCI, HIPAA, SOX, and GLB requirements.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and payment-processing technologies.
