Secure AI Systems Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and implement security controls for AI-powered applications and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop threat models and conduct security architecture reviews for AI and machine learning systems.
• Build incident response capabilities addressing prompt injection, model abuse, data exfiltration, and supply chain risks.
• Design defenses for LLMs, model APIs, training data pipelines, and AI-powered products.
• Apply security engineering fundamentals across application security, identity, cryptography, cloud security, and infrastructure controls.

Requirements

• 6+ years of security engineering experience, including significant work with AI or ML systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of LLM internals, modern AI architectures, and common failure modes.
• Hands-on experience with AI application security controls, threat modeling, and architecture reviews.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one systems language.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Publications, talks, or CTF participation in AI security.
• Experience red-teaming LLM-based products.
• Familiarity with differential privacy and other privacy-preserving ML techniques.
• Experience in regulated industries with strict data handling requirements.
• Open-source contributions to AI security tooling.
