Facilities Engineer II

Location: Winfield, Illinois, United States; on-site, second shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, including every third weekend

Salary: $30–$41 per hour

What you will do

• Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, generators, electrical switchgear, medical air compressors, and related plant systems.
• Perform safety checks, preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment documentation.
• Conduct chemical analyses and maintain the required chemical balance in boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and closed-loop systems.
• Respond to emergencies and service requests, assess problems, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Clean and paint equipment, piping, and accessories in power plant and mechanical rooms.
• Assist contractors and vendors with repairs, maintenance, and construction activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of relevant building maintenance experience.
• Technical maintenance training, HVAC/R trade school certification, or equivalent.
• Stationary Engineer license, or ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and driving abstract.

Nice to have

• Hospital or military experience.
• One year of boiler maintenance training.
• Current universal refrigerant certification.
