Manufacturing Technician III (Surgical Robotics)

Location: Onsite in Milpitas, California, United States; initial training at the Santa Clara site. Regular schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM; training schedule is 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. Occasional weekends and overtime may be required.

What you will do

• Perform advanced electro-mechanical assembly and system-level integration of robotic modules, including joints, control modules, sensors, and cable harnesses.
• Lead complex assembly, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and rework activities across multiple robotic modules.
• Conduct electrical, mechanical, functional, and diagnostic testing using calibrated equipment, torque tools, multimeters, and approved software.
• Document production, inspection, rework, and test results in MES, ERP/SAP, and electronic DHR systems.
• Support pilot builds, product introductions, line readiness, material control, calibration, quality investigations, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide feedback to Engineering, support process improvements, and guide Manufacturing Technician I and II employees on complex assemblies and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in medical-device or electromechanical capital-equipment manufacturing.
• Experience applying Good Documentation Practices in a regulated production environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including multimeters, grounding and isolation techniques, diagnostics, alignment, and sensor calibration.
• Hands-on experience with precision assembly tools, ESD controls, clean manufacturing practices, and in-process inspections.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA QSR, GMP, GDP, validation activities, and medical-device compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and operations teams, and work overtime, early shifts, and weekends when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics, motion-control systems, or surgical-device assembly.
• Experience with process and fixture validation, continuous improvement, and workflow optimization.
• Ability to interpret complex electromechanical schematics and system-level documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience supporting root-cause investigations.
