Embedded Software Engineer II (C/C++)

Location: Centennial, Colorado, USA; primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility. US citizenship required.

Salary: $90,000–$115,000 per year, depending on qualifications.

What you will do

• Design and develop embedded software in C and C++ for constrained environments.
• Implement state machines and handle asynchronous events, including interrupts and signals.
• Apply operating system concepts such as process scheduling, resource sharing, and synchronization.
• Integrate networking capabilities into embedded devices, including IP and MAC layer functionality.
• Work with senior personnel on critical projects, system integration, and product learning.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience in embedded systems development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Solid knowledge of kernel and user space, task scheduling, memory management, and synchronization primitives.
• Proficiency in Python, C, and/or C++, including object-oriented programming principles.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, MAC addresses, and packet inspection tools.
• US citizenship required. Ability to solve assigned problems independently and learn from specifications and protocol documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerized Linux user-space applications.
• Exposure to Yocto or kernel driver development.
• Experience with space networking technologies and standards.
• DoD Secret clearance.
