Datacenter Technician

Location: Remote, but must be within 45 minutes of the Switch location in Lithia Springs, Georgia for emergency responses and third-party escort duties. Travel may be required for scheduled maintenance.

What you will do

• Manage the efficiency, performance, and day-to-day operations of the Lithia Springs and remote data centers.
• Operate incident, problem, and change management processes according to ITIL standards.
• Serve as the technical lead and local escalation point for data center services, infrastructure teams, and emergency events.
• Analyze operational trends and risks, track metrics, and provide reporting for short- and long-term oversight.
• Configure devices for installation and decommissioning, including baseline installation, IP assignment, DNS updates, and communication validation.
• Lead data center projects, coordinate with other departments and locations, and mentor staff on facilities and IT procedures.

Requirements

• Must be within 45 minutes of the Switch location in Lithia Springs, Georgia.
• Advanced knowledge of servers, network cabling, and data center hardware.
• Knowledge of data center electrical, mechanical, and network system operations.
• Experience with network hardware, including Cisco switches, enterprise and remote routers, firewalls, load balancers, and cabling.
• Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as BGP, TCP/IP, DHCP, Ethernet, VLANs, MPLS, VPNs, and ISDN.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems, communicate technical issues effectively, and support scheduled maintenance activities.

Nice to have

• Experience with network management and monitoring systems such as Nagios, SolarWinds Orion, Palo Alto Panorama, Live Action, or A10 Harmony Controller.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, or NetWare server operating systems and directory services.
