Data Center Technician

Location: Carteret, New Jersey, United States; regular travel to regional and remote data centers is required.

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 per year, plus discretionary performance-based bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Plan, execute, and document data center installations, upgrades, and maintenance projects.
• Install and document racks, structured cabling, servers, switches, PDUs, and related hardware.
• Lead infrastructure projects and operational work at regional and remote data centers.
• Oversee and coordinate remote hands tasks.
• Manage equipment inventory, forecast hardware needs, and coordinate logistics.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and partners to maintain infrastructure uptime and performance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in high-availability or financial colocation environments.
• Strong understanding of data center power systems, redundancy, infrastructure design, rack-level cooling, and airflow management.
• Deep knowledge of copper and fiber structured cabling.
• Experience building PC/server hardware and troubleshooting Linux, Bash, and serial console access.
• Proficiency with hand tools, ability to lift up to 30 lbs of equipment, and willingness to travel regularly.
• Clear communication, strong organization, cross-team collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

• Overclocking expertise.
• Python or shell scripting experience.
