Data Center Technician - Overnight

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, United States; onsite overnight position

What you will do

• Monitor critical facilities systems, investigate alarms, follow escalation procedures, and verify electrical and mechanical equipment during hourly facility walkthroughs.
• Provide physical and remote support to colocation customers, including fiber and copper cross-connects, equipment troubleshooting, Remote Hand services, and ticket handling.
• Prepare customer environments, execute sales orders, support deployments, and perform rack-and-stack, equipment handling, repairs, and interconnection circuit work.
• Monitor physical security systems, manage visitor access, escort authorized personnel, and assist during outages and maintenance windows.
• Receive, store, and ship customer packages and coordinate delivery logistics.
• Maintain detailed event, inventory, anomaly, and work-ticket logs while coordinating with customers, contractors, tenants, and colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• At least 2 years of data center experience or closely related technical experience required.
• At least 2 years of customer service experience required.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, multitasking, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, manage priorities, meet hard deadlines, and follow emergency and safety procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite; technical certifications or an associate degree are strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Fundamental knowledge of data center cooling and power infrastructure.
• Industry-related certifications or an associate degree in a technical field.
