TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer II (Aerospace): Developing process plans, work instructions, and test infrastructure for Terran R flight hardware with an accent on propulsion components, structural assemblies, fluid systems, and instrumentation. Focus on troubleshooting hardware issues, conducting Test Readiness Reviews, coordinating quality and calibrated equipment requirements, and improving test campaign performance.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; hands-on work at the factory and test floor.

Salary: $104,000–$156,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Develop process plans, work instructions, and work orders for the integration and testing of flight hardware.
  • Support testing of propulsion components, structural assemblies, fluid systems, and instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with design and test engineers on design-for-testability improvements.
  • Support technicians on the factory floor by troubleshooting issues, resolving non-conformances, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate procurement, inspection, and availability of critical test components and calibrated equipment.
  • Conduct Test Readiness Reviews, analyze test performance, and improve test campaign planning and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, test engineering, or process development for aerospace hardware.
  • Hands-on experience supporting hardware builds in development and test environments.
  • Familiarity with pressure systems, instrumentation, and fluid system assembly.
  • Experience creating manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and test plans.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, hands-on environments with shifting priorities.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting ATP, development, or qualification test campaigns.
  • Experience with high-pressure fluid systems, cryogenic hardware, or propulsion test equipment.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as NX or SolidWorks and fluid schematics.
  • Familiarity with PLM and ERP systems.
  • Understanding of AS9100 or ISO9001 quality management systems.
