Category Buyer II (Procurement)

Location: East Peoria, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $97,530–$146,290 per year.

What you will do

• Develop, manage, and execute category strategies, sourcing policies, supplier agreements, catalogs, and procurement programs.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, inventory optimization, quality improvement, and risk mitigation.
• Manage supplier relationships and act as a liaison between internal teams and suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, responsiveness, and production requirements.
• Analyze market, spend, supplier, and performance data to support sourcing decisions.
• Support contract administration, supplier negotiations, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Extensive experience analyzing, interpreting, and modeling data for business decisions, trend identification, performance evaluation, and risk assessment.
• Working knowledge of supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier performance management.
• Experience supporting contract management and supplier negotiations while following organizational policies and procedures.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in East Peoria, Illinois; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and executing category management strategies.
• Background in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, or supplier management.
• Experience with procurement and supply chain management systems, analytical tools, predictive analytics, and AI.
• Experience managing supplier performance metrics and leading supplier development initiatives.
• Knowledge of QCLDM principles in manufacturing or industrial environments.
