Senior Incident Response & Resiliency Engineer

Location: US-California-Remote; this role is not eligible for immigration support or relocation.

Annual base salary: $114,000–$142,000 in California.

What you will do

• Lead the operational readiness of Incident Response, Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery, and Backup/Recovery programs.
• Maintain application ownership chains, emergency call trees, crisis communication channels, response playbooks, and external outreach protocols.
• Support Sev-0 and Sev-1 security incidents and disaster activations by coordinating crisis workflows, stakeholder updates, and operational timelines.
• Lead Business Impact Analyses, define RTO/RPO baselines, map vendor dependencies, and align service-level requirements.
• Organize technical disaster recovery restoration tests, failover simulations, tabletop exercises, Post-Incident Reviews, and After-Action Reports.
• Audit SIEM coverage, security tooling, backup monitoring, logging, telemetry, and recovery documentation while tracking resilience KPIs and remediation actions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, Incident Response, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, IT Risk Governance, or GRC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Continuity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing or maintaining enterprise BCP/DR plans, conducting BIAs, and overseeing backup restoration testing in AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.
• Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-61, ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, SOAR playbooks, workflow orchestration, and cybersecurity resilience standards.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, facilitate complex tabletop exercises, and communicate technical risks to Legal, PR, and executive stakeholders.
• Proficiency with security platforms, Jira, Confluence, emergency messaging systems, and enterprise BCP/DR tracking tools.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CBCP, CISM, GIAC GCIH, GIAC GCFA, CySA+, or PMP certification.
