Specialist Software Engineering

Location: Hybrid, three days per week in the office at a U.S. hub location: Philadelphia, PA; Cedar Rapids, IA; or Denver, CO. Moderate travel of 10–25% may be required. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Salary: $135,000–$160,000 annually, plus potential annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and modernize enterprise applications, including migrations from legacy systems to cloud-native solutions.
• Lead architecture, technical design, implementation, and technology evaluation for scalable and secure services.
• Own the technical roadmap, system stability, performance, continuous improvement, and production support.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment processes, containerized environments, and infrastructure automation.
• Resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive service reliability initiatives.
• Collaborate with product owners, business partners, architects, engineering teams, and offshore or vendor resources while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 10 years of application development experience using Java or .NET technologies.
• Strong experience with microservices, REST APIs, cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, databases, distributed systems, and integration frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD, source control, automated testing, deployment, containerization, orchestration, scripting, and automation.
• Knowledge of software architecture, object-oriented design, design patterns, security practices, and modern development methods.

Nice to have

• Experience leading enterprise modernization, cloud migration, or platform transformation initiatives.
• Experience with enterprise authentication, identity integration, and customer-facing applications.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development and developer productivity tools.
• Cloud, architecture, platform, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Java certifications.
• Experience in insurance, retirement, wealth management, financial services, or another regulated industry.
