Bindery Operator 2

Salary: $20.00–$29.00 per hour, with possible overtime

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary and automatic bindery machines, including cutters, collators, folders, stitchers, drills, binders, and gluing equipment.
• Operate multi-station finishing systems that process printed sheets into books, catalogs, manuals, directories, magazines, and other finished products.
• Adjust coordinated machine stations for cutting, folding, collating, milling, gluing, covering, stacking, and delivery.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and maintain operating accuracy.
• Direct the production crew and monitor quality, output, and productivity.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret work orders and bindery specifications, calculate distances and clearances, and independently select suitable equipment.
• Experience using standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machinery.
• Knowledge of complex automatic bindery equipment, including perfect binders, multi-station collators, and folding units.
• Knowledge of folding, collating, cutting, and finishing requirements for coated and uncoated paper stock.
• Ability to adjust machines according to paper weight, color, machinability, and quality.
• Navy MOS LI, Marine MOS 4615, or Army MOS 83F experience is relevant.
