Automation Specialist (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own automation system performance and improve cycle time, throughput, quality, and equipment uptime.
• Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, robot, vision, motion-control, safety, and automation programs.
• Optimize FANUC robot paths, motion profiles, sequencing, alarms, interlocks, and recovery routines.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment and process issues.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, production launches, and post-launch stabilization.
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, backups, and version-control practices while training maintenance and production personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, controls engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2–3+ years of experience as a controls engineer, automation engineer, automation specialist, or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience in industrial automation and manufacturing environments.
• Must-have: strong programming and troubleshooting experience with FANUC Robotics and Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLCs.
• Experience with machine vision systems, PLCs, HMIs, motion control, safety systems, and automation troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex automation issues.

Nice to have

• Automotive manufacturing experience.
• Experience with industrial networking, system integration, production launches, commissioning, and equipment stabilization.
• Familiarity with Git, SVN, Factory I/O, FlexSim, or similar simulation tools.
