Sr. Electrical Switch Release Engineer (Electric Vehicles)

Location: Troy, Michigan, United States. This is a full-time onsite role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; visa sponsorship is not available.

Base pay range: $123,339.06–$185,008.58 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop functional requirements, interfaces, diagnostics, and fault-detection protocols for electrical switches, actuators, and sensors.
• Develop and document component test plans.
• Release component part numbers in the Product Lifecycle Management system and maintain release levels as designs mature.
• Lead DFMEA reviews, identify technical risks, and improve controls logic to detect and reduce potential failures.
• Review hardware designs with cross-functional teams and lead Tier 1 supplier development.
• Apply cybersecurity best practices and LEAN Engineering methodologies throughout the component lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or an equivalent qualification from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program is preferred.
• At least five years of relevant experience in electrical hardware or automotive engineering.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with experience working with low- and high-voltage systems.
• Experience with low-voltage components, high-voltage vehicle components, and harness development tools such as Capital and Zuken.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and LVDS physical topology requirements.
• Experience with 8D, Five Whys, fishbone analysis, PPAP, design records, FMEAs, and control plans.
